The Atlantic (ATMLA) and Greater New York (GNYMLA) Chapters of MLA will be holding a joint meeting this fall, to be held on the campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, on October 13-14, 2017.

TRAIN

  • From New York Penn Station take NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor toward Trenton. Stop at New Brunswick.
  • From Washington DC's Union Station take Amtrak’s Northeast Regional or Acela Express to Metropark Station. Change trains to NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor toward Trenton. Stop at New Brunswick.
  • From Philadelphia take Amtrak or Trenton Line from 30th Street Station to Trenton Station. Change trains to NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor toward New York Penn Station. Stop at New Brunswick.

AIRPLANE

  • Newark Liberty Airport is a 25 minute drive from New Brunswick. It is also connected to the Northeast Corridor light rail system, which stops in New Brunswick.
  • Other area airports: JFK International Airport, LaGuardia, Trenton-Mercer

CAR

Generally GPS and online maps services (Google Maps, Mapquest, etc.) perform well in this area. One thing to be aware of is the jughandle <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jughandle>. Basically, sometimes on a highway or busier street, to turn left you need to exit right and then turn left.

GETTING TO ALEXANDER LIBRARY

From the TRAIN STATION

BUS* (For schedules and more detailed instructions go to www.nextbus.com)

  • On Friday take the EE from the Train Station stop on George St. toward the College Ave Student Center (stop at College Ave Student Center). Walk back towards Senior St. The library will be on your right.
  • On Saturday take Weekend 1 from the Train Station stop on George St. toward the College Ave Student Center (stop at College Ave Student Center). Walk back towards Senior St. The library will be on your right.

WALKING 

  • It takes 15-20 minutes to walk from the New Brunswick train station to the Alexander Library. On Easton Ave take a right on Somerset for 1 block before taking a left onto College Ave. The library will be on your right after Senior St.

 

From UNIVERSITY INN--note that the location of the conference and the conference hotel are about 2.5 miles apart and on two different Rutgers campuses (College Ave. and Douglass, respectively).

CAR

  • Parking will be free of charge in lots 26, 30, and the College Avenue Parking Deck (see map below).

 

*Note: Rutgers Buses are free but can be crowded during the week. There are only two bus routes during the weekends: Weekend 1 and Weekend 2.
